I mentioned the other day about WholeFood Farmacy's Liquithon. Below is in-depth information. You are getting way more than the price and quite honestly, what is more priceless than our health and being? I don't think you can really put a price tag on that!
With the Liquithon you can enjoy 13 days of raw, liquid wholefood nourishment based upon meal offerings that were called "rational fastings" in ancient times. You are not going to find anything like this out there right now. I am truly impressed with the Farmacy's product and nutrient overall. The Liquithon unifies, integrates, and harmonizes your physical, emotional, and mental dimensions resulting in a more fluid, peaceful, and greater sense of well being.
You get 7 meals a day over 13 days! This includes a one pound bag of each of our their 7 Farinas: AmpliPhi, BeautiPhi, ClariPhi, DetoxiPhi, ElectriPhi, FructiPhi, and GloriPhi. You will also receive your very own Free Wholefood Farmacy Shaker Cup!
Not familiar with farinas? Here you go!
#1 AmpliPhi, the red farina , affects the circulatory system, heart, and helps to move around so many necessary nutrients. You will find this farina particularly uplifting and stimulating.
#2 BeautiPhi, the orange farina , affects the endocrine system and what is often referred to as the qi. This is so important to all of us for strength, cleansing and balance. You’ll find your attitude improve and you’ll experience a lightness of body and spirit.
#3 ClariPhi, the yellow farina, works strongly with the liver, solar plexus, and of course the nervous system. This farina seems to aid in concentration and focus as well as the ability to take in more easily your environment.
#4 DetoxiPhi, the green farina, is really the king pin of clean’s’ing. This is the meal that moves the stuff on out. Drink it cold or room temperature and enjoy the benefits of a clean colon. You will also find yourself moving more easily and find walking and exercise to be more enjoyable.
#5 ElectriPhi, the blue farina, really wakes you up in the morning. What an exciting way to introduce your taste buds to the new day. ElectriPhi makes your bones happy to be out of bed and ready for a morning walk. This one will make you smile!
#6 FructiPhi, the indigo farina, allows you to breathe more easily. Feel the energy of this farina’s ability to help your respiratory system breathe in the good and expel the used. As refreshing as an Appalachian lavender sunset.
#7 Gloriphi, the violet or purple farina, unchains the brain and increases the flow of all things in the ever so important lymphatic system. This one works great, and tastes great. Kids love this farina and it is so wonderful for them.
Now, I paid $129 for this 13 day program. You cannot even buy a true cleansing kit alone for this price for this many days and this is not just a cleanse, but a nutrient infuser and booster for your body that you will continue to reap benefits from. I tell you what, if you are looking for a way to help jump-start yourself back onto a healthy path and get some added benefits of cleansing your body and not just losing weight to "diet", then this process is amazing!
So there you have it - my 2 cents worth! Let me know if you end up trying this and how it works for you!

A Kick Butt Weight Loss Solution
So it's only taken me 2 1/2 years to lose all of my baby fat I gained after being pregnant! I only gained a total of 12lbs while I was pregnant and I was doing good. Then the baby came and I dealt with postpartum and frustration of diet restrictions while nursing. Anything raw tore my daughter up and I was hungry from all of the calories being burned. I resorted to LOTS of carbs. And on top of that, I was dealing with one of the most difficult and abusive clients I've ever done work for. When it was all said and done, I gained over 30lbs alone after my daughter was born!
Several of you have asked what I've been doing to lose so much weight and get toned up. So I am going to share my solution with you. You have to keep in mind that what works for me, may not necessarily work the same for you. I've come to realize that - especially after childbirth - what worked before, may not work now!
The past month has been spent cutting calories, exercising, and getting into a routine. Not just an exercise and eating routine, but a routine for my entire life - physically, mentally, and emotionally. I have a flexible routine every morning that allows me to get organized and ready for each day, weather we are staying home or going out. And have been working on eating at the same time every day, when possible.
Both my husband and I started our "program" by doing the Special K challenge. This really helped us to not have to count all of our calories at the start, because each serving was already written out for us. We did this for about 3wks and definitely noticed results. Once we both had it figured out how much we each needed for caloric intake, we were able to adjust and make meals with this same idea in mind. I also used the WholeFood Farmacy's "Liquithon" to help jump start my efforts.
All the while keeping up with daily exercise and weights at the gym. I have also incorporated what I call a "Deck" workout: you take a deck of cards and separate the blacks and the reds. One color is situps; the other color pushups. I use our AbLounge for the situps and use the exercise ball to do the pushups. (starting out can be done on the floor on knees for less exertion). Then I do about a 35-45min workout at the gym in cardio, while adding in weights workouts to my legs.
This little "regiment" alone has put me down 2 sizes and a total of 15lbs! My goal is to lose about another 20lbs to get to my peak optimum weight for my age and height. No "dieting" or starving has had to take place and I have been feeling GREAT and able to stay committed because nothing has changed except my lifestyle of eating. Everything has been in moderation. Consistency has been the key for me. The best thing I've liked about all of this, is it has been easy to do when away from the house and during the holidays. In fact, the bulk of my weight was lost DURING Christmas!
Currently, I still do a bowl of low calorie and high grain cereal for breakfast, either a protein meal bar or protein shake with fruit added for lunch, and then a regular meal. I have snacks as well that I've either created and have the calories listed or found low calorie, filling snacks that help to hold over until meal time. I've also started to keep recipes of all our dinners because I have everything measured out to keep track of each calorie, so now all I have to do is follow my little recipe card and can mix and match foods!

My Own Tea Party
I have been a fan of Numi Tea since before it really became a hot item on the organic market. And I am not a tea drinker either. The only tea that I've really ever enjoyed has been true English tea, as I drank that in place of coffee when I lived over in Europe for 5 years. Other than that, I love the smell of teas, but always have a hard time with how 'watery' the flavor is compared to the smell.
Well NOT with Numi! You can get the true tea leaves to steep, or you can also now get bottled and bagged teas as well. I still order online, as it is cheaper than getting them in bulk at a Whole Foods, Sunflower, or Sprouts.
I have found that my evenings, of late, I love to use these teas for a little warm drink that relaxes, tastes, and smells amazing!

Antioxidant Heaven
I have lost 7lbs since Christmas. This is quite impressive to me, as I haven't been working out that much since Thanksgiving! The Rec Center hasn't seen our family in several weeks. I have simply cut my calories and resorted back to a strength training model that i used when running cross country in High School. I just imagine if I really got into the groove of things, I could probably really kill of some weight and get back the tummy I had pre-baby!
I absolutely thrive on products that give me energy, but also help maintain the appetite. The Cranberry Kahuna from the Wholefood Farmacy is simply amazing!
The Cranberry Kahuna is 5 lbs. of Cranberry Phi Plus. Cranberry Phi Plus is a rich tasting, moist and delicious variation of Phi Plus that includes the healthy addition of cranberries. The taste is “out of this world” and Cranberry Phi Plus is a favorite of young and old alike. Research shows that Cranberries are packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients that your body can use to ward off disease and aging. In fact, Cranberries score 1750 on the Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity (ORAC) scale. Cranberry Phi Plus is a fantastic meal replacement, a wonderful treat and a great snack at any time of the day or night.
I add this to yogurt or eat it straight out of the bag and the caloric intake is very low, but very filling!

A Break From My Hiatus
Yes, I haven't blogged in MONTHS. And for very good reasons! It has been quite the adventure around here the past 5 or 6 months. I have been re-grouping and resting and falling into a wonderful new role here.
I have spent the past 6 months getting my consulting business off the ground and am finally reaping the fruits of my labor! I tell you that it doesn't get much better than to TRULY be an Independent Contractor. I am full time blown into Social Marketing, Translation, and Consulting on all matters mentioned afore, as well as specializing in educating people with the proper steps, rights, laws, and plans in becoming and working as an Independent Contractor and starting up Freelancing services. You can read *mostly* all that I do here. (This site too is still under constant change!) I am currently working on getting a site set up for my translation services. So far I have stayed busy enough with this that I haven't had to go looking too far!
It has been hard to even think about keeping up my own blog when I am working on everyone elses all week long! But, I have finally been able to do some 'facelifting' to my own blog and look forward to communicating with you all again! I've got some amazing new recipes, thoughts, and pictures that I am burning to get up here.
I am surprised - and so THANKFUL - to see that my ALL followers are still here and that you still communicate! THANK YOU! Here's to another adventurous year that we can all learn to appreciate and own!
*A very special thanks to 'AVeermeer Photography' for the wonderful new header photo!*

So, You Don't Want To Go To Church Anymore?
**WARNING** THIS POST NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART & NOT FOR THE CLOSE-MINDED** YOUR LIFE COULD VERY WELL BE TURNED UPSIDE DOWN**
Ever tired of just going through the motions of Christianity and want to mine the depths of what it REALLY means to live deeply in Christ? Well, we have come to this stark realization over the past few years. We have asked ourselves difficult questions, asked God those difficult questions, and found some far-reaching answers. You might say that our world has been turned upside down - for the better! As I've talked about in previous posts, we made a choice to follow where God was leading and not man - it has forever changed our lives!
We read through Jacobsen's & Coleman's book, "So You Don't Want To Go To Church Anymore; an unexpected journey" several months ago, and I am getting ready to go through it again. Now, before I continue, I must state that I am not replacing this book as my "bible" and I'm not saying that I agree with every single word that is in it. I DO however, believe that this has some KEY truths and elements about how GOD sees our relationship with Himself and what He intended from the very beginning. I am not saying that I think the church is null and I am not saying that you shouldn't go to church - there is a healthy balance between what is being spoken about in this book that I will leave for you to read for yourself, if you choose.
What has been so refreshing and therapeutic for me is the freedom in knowing that I do not have to belong to a church in order for God to move in my life, speak to me, and grow in Him. I do not have to submit to a pastor as if I would my God. (I am NOT saying that we shouldn't respect our leaders, etc. What I AM saying is that God is my God and not another man; and when I say 'man' I am referring to humankind). Yes, I believe God puts pastors/leaders in authority to speak into our lives -what I don't believe is that just because a leader says you must do this or that or else you won't experience this or have that - that I must except that as the inherent truth and word of God. Anyone else who says this isn't right is essentially manipulating/controlling you to some extent so that you can help benefit their own personal agenda and not God's.
This story refers to the church as 'the institution', which I do agree with. Once you have a payroll and a group of leaders governing the overall decisions, you have an institution. There is no such mention of this in the Bible anywhere. God intended for us to be in relationship with Him - yes, have fellowship with other believers - but no in the sense that this one reason would keep you from being in fellowship with Him. This is a concept that I struggled with after we left our church a few years ago. We knew that we couldn't walk in the lies anymore with them, yet we felt like we had no worth, so to speak without being in a church. Now you mustn't confuse this by me saying we shouldn't have fellowship with other believers. The whole idea behind this is that God never said "if you don't go to a church and follow the prescribed formula, you will never be able to have relationship with me." When talking about approval, the book quotes:
Weather you agree or not, this book is definitely worth reading. If you disagree, this is great material to debate and argue your points with :) - if you agree with stuff inside, then you're in for a whole new ride as well!

When talking about approval, the book quotes:
"Do what they want and they shower you with affirmation. Cross them and they'll crucify your reputation, with or without the facts." ... "it's a lot easier for you to get out of the system than it is to get the system out of you."See, we went through the martydom by leaving the church we were at - as if we had some sort of disease and had lost our salvation. We took a stand on what we believed to be wrong and what we believed to be the Truth and chose to follow the Truth. No more approval once we disagreed with what the "masses" told us to believe. At another section of the book, they have a discussion on guilt and how it is used to gain the desired outcome by controlling a situation:
"Guilt does that. It shoves us away from God in our time of need, instead of allowing us to run to him, presenting our greatest failures and questions so that we might receive his mercy and grace....we use guilt to conform people's behavior, never realizing the same guilt will them far from God."See, it's a dangerous scary game. And we still get caught up in now that we're gone, just because it is human nature and when these things have been literally ingrained/indoctrinated in us since becoming a Christian, it's hard to just 'stop' all of a sudden. But thanks be to God that He is the ultimate in charge and that when we truly choose to follow HIM and not man, it will happen automatically. Your life is turned upside down without you even knowing it because you have been choosing to put God first and not the approval and guilt-driven system of man.
Weather you agree or not, this book is definitely worth reading. If you disagree, this is great material to debate and argue your points with :) - if you agree with stuff inside, then you're in for a whole new ride as well!

Incorporating Medium Chain ‘fatty acids’ into Your Diet Helps Lose Body Fat
I am not a diabetic, but I think this is great to think about weather you are or aren't! I really like this company's products and the coconut oil is quite tasty! I can add this to oatmeal, and Kaileigh eats it right up. Virgin Coconut Oil is an extremely versatile and wonderfully delicious tasting oil. Good quality coconut oil is one of the most stable cooking oils, plus it's highly resistant to rancidity. There are many ways to incorporate coconut oil into your diet. It could be used anywhere you currently use any of the "seed" oils (soybean, corn, canola, safflower, sesame seed, sunflower seed); used as a butter for spreads, over popcorn, or for baking; used in soups or 'smoothies'; eaten right off the spoon; eaten as a "candy" or "white chocolate" when refrigerated or frozen; put in coffee or tea; mixed with peanut butter; etc. I can add this to oatmeal, and Kaileigh eats it right up.
A new study demonstrates that a diet rich in coconut oil protects against ‘insulin resistance’ (an impaired ability of cells to respond to insulin) in muscle and fat. The diet also avoids the accumulation of body fat caused by other high fat diets of similar calorie content. Together these findings are important because obesity and insulin resistance are major factors leading to the development of Type 2 diabetes.
The study is also interesting because it helps explain human studies showing that people who incorporate medium chain ‘fatty acids’, such as those found in coconut oil, into their diets can lose body fat.
Dr Nigel Turner and Associate Professor Jiming Ye, from Sydney's Garvan Institute of Medical Research, compared fat metabolism and insulin resistance in mice fed coconut oil and lard based diets. Their findings are now published online in the international journal Diabetes.
Unlike the long chain fatty acids contained in animal fats, medium chain fatty acids are small enough to enter directly, where they can then be converted to energy.
Unfortunately the downside to eating medium chain fatty acids is that they can lead to fat build up in the liver, an important fact to be taken into consideration by anyone considering using them as a weight loss therapy.
Fat storage is determined by the balance between how much fat is taken in by cells and how much of this fat is burned for energy. When people eat a high fat diet, their bodies attempt to compensate by increasing their capacity to oxidise fat. The medium chain fatty acid (coconut oil) diet was more effective at increasing the oxidative capacity of muscle than the long chain fatty acid (lard) diet leading to less fat storage in muscle and better insulin action.
The lard-based diet used in this research is similar to the diet eaten by people in the Western world. Its fatty acid composition is about 40% saturated fats, 40% monounsaturated fats and 20% polyunsaturated fats, of which the vast proportion is omega-6, rather than omega-3.
So at any rate, that is my 2 cents worth! You can check more out here. I just got a BUY 1 GET 1 FREE @ 12.95 special!!
